It is the VETERAN, not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the VETERAN, not the re porter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the VETERAN, not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the VETERAN, not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag,
It is the veteran,
who serves under the Flag,
ETERNAL REST GRANT THEM O LORD,
AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.
I don't know if you saw this in the news but it really impressed me. Funny, our US Senate/House took 2 days off as they couldn't work because of the expected storm.
On the ABC evening news, it was reported tonight that, because of the dangers from Hurricane Isabelle approaching Washington DC, the military members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were given permission to suspend the assignment.
They respectfully declined the offer, "No way, Sir!"
Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment; it was the highest honor that can be afforded to a service person.
The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.
I don't usually suggest that many emails be forwarded, but I'd be DAMN proud if this one reached as many as possible.
We can be very proud of our young men and women in the service no matter where they serve.
God Bless them.

Denzel Washington ( Patriotism )
Subject: Denzel Washington, and
Brooks Army Medical Center
Don't know whether you heard about this
but Denzel Washington and his family visited
the troops at Brook Army Medical Center , in
San Antonio, Texas (BAMC) the other day. This
is where soldiers who have been evacuated from
Germany come to be hospitalized in the United
States, especially burn victims. There are some
buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher
House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay,
for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying
in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses
on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled
most of the time
While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave
him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how
much one of them would cost to build. He took his check
book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there
on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear
this story and want to get the word out to the American
public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.
The question I have is why does:
Alec Baldwin,
Madonna,
Sean Penn and
other Hollywood types
make front page news with their anti-everything -
America and Denzel Washington's Patriotism
doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of
any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San
Antonio.
A true American and friend to all in uniform!
This needs as wide a distribution
as we can create.
GOD BLESS YOU DENZEL
FOR YOUR PATRIOTISM

Christmas In Iraq
The chow hall is decked up with care knowing that the Christmas meal will soon be there.
The Soldiers worked and toiled with nothing to say. As they hoped we wouldn’t get bombed that day.
The locals watched with a fiery eye and hoped soon all of us would die.
As they aimed their mortars and set their IEDs the Infantry set upon them with ease.
And the Engineers with demo in hand destroyed their best laid plans.
As the Snipers set upon their prey they hope to have off Christmas day.
But for now they work throughout the night to stop the insurgents try as they might.
And EOD with escort in tow go out to see what IEDs they can blow.
And the Field Artillery point their cannons to a mortar site not yet abandon While the MPs guard their prison and continue mission All the TOCs listen with care to what’s going on out there.
They send their reports and updated the troops.
On where they need to go and what they need to do.
Commanders keep a watchful eye on everything going on And the XO briefs him on where we went wrong.
The 1SG does what he can to ensure his Soldiers are the best in the land.
While the PSG check and double check to make sure nothings been left.
Another mission another patrol Soldiers mount up its time to go.
As the strykers roll out of site I hear them say merry Christmas to all and to all a safe night.

I don't care!
Could not have said this any better myself! The lady who wrote this letter is Pam Foster of Pamela Foster and Associates in
WHAT'S ALL THE FUSS?
"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on
September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown
across the Potomac from our nation's capitol and in a field in
burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?
And I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't.
I don't care at all.
I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.
I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in
I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling, slashed throat.
I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in
I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.
I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.
In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care.
When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college hazing incident, rest assured that I don't care.
When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care.
When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts that I don't care.
And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, Jimmy Crack Corn and
---- you guessed it, I could not have said this any better myself!
If you agree with this view point, pass this on to all your e-mail friends. Sooner or later, it'll get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior! If you don't agree, then by all means hit the delete button. Should you choose the latter, then please don't complain when more atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great country.
